Autumn Farrow kicked off the Championship Season with our “best performance of the weekend,” according to Coach Brown. She achieved a personal record (PR) of 15.84 seconds in the 100m, her first sub-16 second sprint, securing 10th place and a spot in regionals. Later, she clinched her first gold medal with a 12.05 ft PR in the 9 Girls Long Jump. Autumn now ranks #1 in AAU NC 9 Girls Long Jump and can qualify for the AAU Junior Olympics in Houston with a top-5 finish at Regionals. She concluded her weekend with another PR in the 200m, posting a time of 33.21 seconds, which also qualified her for regionals by finishing in 15th place. Coach Brown summarized her performances by saying, “Autumn had herself a weekend”!
Amber Brown delivered solid performances, placing 4th in the 14 Girls Long Jump with a 16.2 ft effort and 15th in the 14 Girls 200m with a 26.63, just 0.29 seconds off her PR. She qualified for Regionals in all events.
Mia Nelson earned Coach Brown’s “Most Improved” title and first dibs on the PR Chain at practice this week by achieving the team’s biggest PR. She improved her 200m time by 1.09 seconds, clocking in at 32.21 seconds. Mia’s dedication and hard work were praised by Coach Cooper Demond, who commended her for her bravery and commitment.
